The full sized refrigerator and gas range and small assortment of pots/pans & spices/condiments allows you to cook up a meal; and the Keurig is supplied with a handful of K-cups to get your first morning or two off on the right note. The bar stool has a high back and cushioned back and seat for better comfort. Washer and dryer are available on site. Wild life can be seen out of the many windows that are in the house. Front porch is covered and a great place to sit and enjoy the stars at night. Outdoor propane grill. Patio tables and chairs and a concrete patio. Just seconds away from hiking, exploring and picnicking.

Have you had a chance to sleep in a Church before? Well now you can. The Casita is attached to the Historical adobe church, through its sacristy. You can make this a spiritual experience, or 'just' a unique experience! The Church property plays out over an entire city block. It is available for contemplative walks, watching the sunrise, observing the sunset; playing a game of horseshoes or trying your luck at badminton. The Casita is a 700 square foot open living area. You have 2 queen beds and one daybed to choose from. There is a kitchenette consisting of a sink, microwave, 2 burner hotplate, refrigerator, coffee pot, toaster, dishes, and utensils. The Casita opens up onto the large Spanish courtyard which is shared with the Rectory building. The Spanish courtyard consists of multiple sitting areas, as well as a gazebo available for your use. The Casita also has its own private patio from which to watch the sunsets and use for your enjoyment. The private patio is near a garden which you may putter in, if you so desire! The Casita has a full bathroom with a shower but no tub, and you will have access to a second (public) half bath. The property has a manager on site at all times in the Rectory building. Since the property has many nooks and crannies dating from the 1860's with additions and improvements since that time, guidance may be needed to complete your experience. You may visit inside the church at any time during your stay. The grilling patio and kiva fireplace located near the front of the Rectory, is also available for your use and enjoyment. There are 3 kitties that have recently decided to live with us on the Church compound. They live outside, but occasionally they may sneak inside through an open door. Hatch is known as the Chile Capital of the World. Each Labor Day, the Chile Festival is held over that Saturday and Sunday. Chile enthusiasts from all over the world come to participate in the "red or green" event. During non-Chile Festival times, the surrounding areas are calmer. We have fields of growing cotton, wheat, onions, as well as Chiles. The pecan orchards provide resplendent towers of green in this lush valley. A drive down Highway 185 between Hatch and Las Cruces is one of the more scenic drives around. The Church compound resides 1.5 miles south of Hatch in a village called Rodey. The Church's bell tower can be seen from Highway 185. You will turn on El Colorado Avenue into Rodey, and go 2 blocks to the Church. Find your way through the front gates and you will be met by the property manager. Many attractions are available in the area. Truth or Consequences provides hot springs for soaking enthusiasts to the beaches of Elephant Butte reservoir to cool your toes. Silver City is an old-west town near the entrance to the Gila Cliff Dwellings. And how often do you get to sled down white sand? Well you can at White Sands. Petroglyphs abound in the state; just find your starting point. Dripping Springs near Las Cruces heralds a gentle hiking trail to see a piece of history in the Organ Mountains. These are but a few of things to do in the immediate surrounding area. Ask us, we can help you in your destination selection. The Casita has heat and air conditioning. It also has heat provided by a wood burning stove with backup electrical heaters. A television is provided in the Rectory. Due to the thickness of the adobe walls, finding the internet connectivity can be tricky, but connection is assured within the Rectory walls. Cell phone service is good in the area. Due to the age of the buildings, most rooms have slight steps between them, so we are not wheelchair accessible. You will need to watch your step at all times. And this is very tough to do, as there is so much beauty to see within and outside the walls of this historic property. We hope that you will enjoy it.

The Casa Javelina is located in Magdalena NM, 6500 ft, gateway to the Cibola and Gila National Forests. It was originally located in Rosedale, a silver mining town in the San Mateo Mountains about 20 miles away from its current location. The house has been renovated but retains its character as a historic house. This is a perfect base to explore the Socorro Valley to the east and the high plains to the west. 2 Bedrooms, 1 bath, fully functional kitchen w/ gas stove and oven, microwave, coffee maker, full size fridge, washer/dryer. Native plant landscaped yard, outdoor table. gas grill. The master bedroom has a queen, the small second bedroom has a full size pull out, and another futon can be pulled out in the living room. Linens, blankets, and pillows for the pull outs are available. A horse pen big enough for 3 horses adjoins the backyard. Bring your horse! Many fabulous rides are possible in the Magdalena area. A day on horseback in the high plains is sure to make you feel like you are in an old western movie! An aspen wood swing in the backyard aspen grove is a great place to watch the sunset paint the nearby 10000 ft Magdalena Mountains. Walk 100 yards to the Golden Spur bar to mingle with local Spanish folks, Navajos from the nearby Alamo Reservation, or ranchers from the country all around. Day trip to the Bosque Del Apache Wildlife refuge (35 miles) or to the Very Large Array Radio Telescope (15 miles). Or explore three ghost towns (Kelly, Riley and Rosedale) all located within 30 miles of Magdalena. Hiking and Mountain Biking opportunities abound around Magdalena. Pick up/ drop off services for day trips can be arranged with the owner.

If you want a quiet retreat, then historic Hillsboro is the place to go. This home is available for long-term rental. This two-bedroom 1894 Victorian cottage is on the National Register of Historic Places, and is among the most unique homes in New Mexico. It's featured in the book, ''Houses in Time,'' and appeared in New Mexico Magazine. Gold built Hillsboro, and this house is built out of molten gold slag, poured into blocks that reflect iridescent purple and pink. Its wood came from the razed photography studio of J.C. Burge in nearby Kingston in 1893. The Historic Hillsboro House was made of recycled materials--120 years ago. The property was formerly owned by Judge Frank W. Parker, a President McKinley nominee to the Territorial Supreme Court, and eventual Chief Justice after statehood. The home was built by Peter and Nicholas Galles, that latter leaving a significant paper trail. Nicholas wended through the Indian Wars as a citizen soldier, serving as a captain in the Geronimo campaign. From the veranda you'll enjoy the mountain views and the air embalmed by birdsong. You can chat, read, and if you must, work on your laptop. You'll quickly see why Hillsboro today has a high concentration of writers and artists and photographers. You should visit the Black Range Museum, antique shops, and Black Range Vineyard and Bistro. You might take a meal or two at the Barber Shop Cafe or the Hillsboro General Store Cafe. Work off your meals with a walk through the Hillsboro Historic District and take in the unique architecture about town, including a home owned by New Mexico's former Lt. Governor, Diane Denish. Hillsboro is a great place to take a long pause on the Geronimo Trail National Scenic Byway. It's a launch pad - crash pad for activities in the Gila National Forest, the Gila Cliff Dwellings, the Aldo Leopold Wilderness, Lake Valley historic ghost town, or Caballo and Elephant Butte state parks, and a down-to-earth landing for Spaceport America visitors. Make forays into the arts scene, hot spring baths, and antique shops and museums in Truth or Consequences, 30 miles away. This home is fully equipped for stays of any length. The main bedroom has a queen-size pillow-top bed, a double sleeper sofa in the living room, and another queen in detached casita with a modern full bathroom and laundry. We're located between the old courthouse ruins, and the historic Union Church. Cool stuff to do. Quiet and Beautiful Country Living. Wi-Fi is throughout the Cabin. Huge, covered parking. Smells and noises of country life. You can hear the coyotes and occasional dogs barking at night (I have several dogs). I have two steers in a pen not far from the Cabin. Guests are welcome to wander the property. Besides the steers I have goats, ducks, and chickens. Fresh eggs are always available. Amenities included are; air conditioning/heating, washer/dryer combo, full kitchen, shower, outdoor patio w/grill, electric indoor fireplace, 50" tv, dvd player, books, board games and more.
